Our Services

Personalized genetic counseling and testing – for your health and your family’s future.

Genetic counseling is a conversation, not a test.

You’ll meet with a licensed, board-certified genetic counselor to:

  • Review your personal and family history

  • Talk through your questions and options

  • Create a plan that’s right for you

Genetic testing is an option – not a requirement.

If it makes sense for you, we’ll help you:

  • Understand what testing can (and can’t) tell you

  • Choose the right test

  • Navigate the next steps with confidence

If testing isn't the right fit? You’ll still leave with clarity, expert insight, and next steps.

We offer support for both personal health and reproductive planning.

Whether you’re looking for answers, considering testing, reviewing past results, or simply curious – you’re in the right place.

💬 Personalized guidance, not generic advice

We take the time understand your story, history, and goals – then match you with the right testing (if desired) and clear next steps. No one-size-fits-all advice.

Appointments with time to think

Our 30- to 60-minute sessions give you the space to ask questions and feel heard. You deserve more than a rushed appointment.

⚖️ Independent, expert recommendations

We’re not tied to any testing lab. That means your counselor recommends what’s best for you – not what's best for a company.

🧬 Medical-grade results you can trust

We only recommend clinical-grade tests from trusted labs – not casual DNA kits. You'll get accurate, actionable results that you and your doctor can use.

🗺️ Clarity & support for what comes next

Testing is just one piece of the puzzle. We help you understand your results in context – and turn them into a proactive plan for your health.

  • What does the quiz screen for?
The quiz screens for signs of hereditary cancer risk related to Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer (BRCA1/2) and Lynch syndrome, the two most common inherited cancer syndromes. It's a first step to help you understand if a deeper look might make sense for you.
  • How long does the quiz take?
Most people finish the quiz in less than 5 minutes.
  • Will this cost me anything?
The quiz is completely free. If you decide to move forward with a consultation or testing later, we’ll explain your options – including costs and insurance – before you commit to anything.
  • What happens after I take the quiz?
You’ll get your results right away, along with a clear recommendation for next steps. If your answers suggest a possible hereditary risk, you’ll have two options: – A 60-minute consultation for full genetic counseling, or – A 30-minute session focused on your family history. Even if your results don’t point to a BRCA1/2 or Lynch syndrome risk, we may still recommend the 30-minute session – just to be sure nothing was missed. Either way, you’ll get expert, personalized guidance and a clear plan you can feel confident about.
  • Is this quiz only for people with a family history of cancer?
The quiz is especially helpful if you or your close relatives have had cancer. If you don't know your family history (for example, if you were adopted), genetic counseling and testing are still available through HealthyGene. Email us directly so we can help: hello@myhealthygene.com.
  • Do I have to do genetic testing if I take the quiz?
Nope. The quiz is just the beginning. You’ll talk with a genetic counselor first to decide if testing is right for you. We’re here to support your decision – not push you into anything.
  • Who will I talk to if I schedule a consultation?
You’ll meet one-on-one with Jen Thompson, MS, CGC – a board-certified genetic counselor and founder of HealthyGene. Jen has helped hundreds of people understand their risk and take proactive steps for their health.
  • Will my information be private and secure?
Absolutely. Your quiz answers and any personal information you share are 100% confidential. We won't spam you or sell your email address. All your personal information, including your quiz results, are stored in secure, HIPAA-compliant software. We take your privacy seriously.
  • What if I have other questions?
We’ve got you. If something’s still on your mind after you take the quiz, you’ll have the option to ask questions during your consultation – or reach out beforehand if needed. We’re here to help you make informed, confident decisions.
